In 2015, a criminology study found that 42% of parents in prisons across the country reported never having had a personal visit from their children. As of May 2021, there are over 41,000 men and women in the Arizona prison system. Many have children whom they get to see very rarely, if at all due to transportation, costs, and most recently, the pandemic.

Regular visitation between children and their incarcerated parent lowers the rates of recidivism and improves family reunification upon release multiple studies have shown. In addition, children who are allowed regular visits with their incarcerated parents demonstrate better emotional and social adjustment. Your donations help secure the transportation of children and their caregivers from the host site to the prison and back, three meals for the day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), activity bags for the children, and GOTB AZ t-shirts for children and caregivers.
